Erectile Dysfunction - When To Seek Medical Advice

It’s normal to experience erectile dysfunction once in a while. If erectile dysfunction lasts longer than a month or two or is a constant problem, see your doctor for a physical exam or for a referral to a doctor who specializes in men’s health and erectile problems. Your own doctor or a specialist can help you determine the possible underlying cause or causes of erectile dysfunction and then help you find the right type of treatment. The fix may be a very simple one and you will be in a better mental state once you conquer erectile dysfunction.

Although you might view erectile dysfunction as a personal or embarrassing problem, it’s important to seek treatment, especially if a physical cause might be to blame. In many cases, erectile dysfunction can be successfully treated. Also, see your doctor if the therapy or medication prescribed to treat erectile dysfunction isn’t working for you. Don’t try to combine medications or therapies on your own or deviate from prescribed doses. If you are taking more than one medication always consult your doctor for possible drug interactions that can lead to more problems.

The bottom line is that many things, both mentally and physically, can cause erectile dysfunction. Perhaps you have tried some herbal based pills and they helped and all is fine but if nothing seems to be working for you it is paramount that you seek medical advice. A doctor is far more suited to diagnosing what is causing your erectile problems than self diagnosing yourself through trial and error methods.
