FDA stops a Levitra ad due to missing information and exaggerated claims

The FDA has forced Bayer and GlaxoSmithKline to pull the “My Man” ad for Levitra, their erectile dysfunction drug, citing concerns about the content of the ad. The ad fails to say that Levitra users who are also using alpha-blockers can suffer from hypotension and it fails to tell consumers that Levitra is designed to treat erectile dysfunction. The advertisement also made a claim that the FDA says is unsubstantiated. The advertisement implies that Levitra is somehow better than other erectile dysfunction drugs, but there is no documented proof that its effects are in any way superior to those of other drugs.
